Another Butterfly Review

Mariah Carey

After several No 1 singles and six albums Mariah's new and sixth studio album's called Butterfly. The first release from Butterfly, Honey, which was produced by Puff Daddy is very untypical for the album and in my opinion it's one of the worst tracks on the album. The eleven other songs sound totally different. Of course there are a few smooth songs like One sweet day from the Daydream album. For example Butterfly, which is supposed to be released as the second single, My all, The beautiful ones, Fourth of July, Outside and Babydoll are typical Mariah songs. The roof sound more like a relaxed Hip Hop track. For Breakdown Mariah got herself some support by Krayzie and Wish Bone of Bone Thugs 'N Harmony who have made a guest appearance on this track and so it's not a surprise that the whole song sounds like a Bone one. The list of guest appearances also includes Mase & The Lox (Honey), Dru Hill (The beautiful ones), Trey Lorenz (Babydoll) and Missy Elliot. But there also are two bonustracks. The So So Def Radio Remix of Honey was produced by Jermaine Dupri and features Da Brat. In my opinion this one's better than the second remix by David Morales. This one sounds totally different so that I think it shouldn't have been put on the album. All in all Butterfly deserves in any case of five achievable points, yet because of the Bone guest appearance and the other terrific guests and songs.
