Reviews of "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" by The Four Bastards

Remember Booker, Aunt Jackie's boyfriend from Roseanne?  That's George Clooney

Hot Chick: Drew Barrymore and Julia Roberts

Hot Chick Factor: Drew AND Julia???  Gotta go with a 10!  I know the pictures are from different movies, but hell, they look good.  "The Wedding Singer" kicks ass and Drew looks cute as a button.  Erin Brockavich?  She good too.

Synopsis -- Chuck Barris, producer and host of The Gong Show, is a TV guy by day and a CIA hitman by night.  Is he telling the truth?

Short declaratory phrase in an attempt to get quoted in TV trailer, ad, or cover box --

"Chuck Barris is one weird son of a bitch!  This film totally freaked me out because he is such a weirdo!"

Nate's review:

This was an enjoyable movie.  Unlike "Antwone Fisher," there is some "notice the director" shit in this, but it's done well.  I am all about moody chiaroscuro lighting and art direction and cinematography that enhances the story.  I'd have to see it again to be sure, but upon first viewing there are three distinct "themes" that are utilized according to what time period we are seeing and/or what type of things are going on.  At worst, this is a visually interesting film that integrates some French impressionist elements with some documentary-esque sequences and some rather gruesome antics pretty well.  At best, it is a great character study of a deeply conflicted individual.  What, does he like to kill or entertain?  Make up your damn mind!  You can't kill and entertain unless you're a Roman gladiator.... where am I going with this???  I have no idea; I am at work and I drank too much coffee.  Go see it but don't expect a conventional satisfactory resolution.  I told ya, he's a weird son of a bitch!  Yahoo yahoo yahoo wowsers holy geez go Clooney you badass motherfucka.

Jason's review:

If you look at my past reviews you will know that I think Clooney is the coolest guy ever, so I had to see his directorial debut.  I could not have been more disappointed.  When I walked out I thought this movie was O.K., but after thinking about it, I didn't like it.  I thought it was boring.  I was more interested in the game show stuff than I was about the CIA stuff.  This movie is a bunch of bullshit anyway.  This is just glorifying a guy who pulled one over on America and this movie only confirms it.  I like Clooney but I didn't like this, sorry.
