Okay, so we all know about how Disney made this movie about a century old Newsboy Strike called "Newsies," right? A lot of people have voiced their opinions on the "true" story behind the movie. Well, now it's my turn. After months of investigation and research, I have uncovered the real story of why "Newsies" was made. WARNING!Most everyone belives that the live action musical was created because of some history buff that wanted to recreate an event that not many people had heard of...THIS IS WRONG!! This movie was made because some person, whom we will call Mr. NewMup was an obsessed fan of Jim Henson's Muppets! Mr. NewMup decided that a movie with a lot of people running around shouting at each other would be the perfect chance for him to get some "Muppet Look-alikes" for the parts of the Newsboys and supporting cast. This was strictly confidential. So confidential that Mr. NewMup wouldn't even tell his psychiatrist about it. While doing my research, I came across a few Top Secret files. This is one of them on his secret plan to take over as main casting director...

My Sinister Plan to Take Over as Casting Director
I got a brilliant brain storm this morning while meeting with the crew of my new movie, "Newsies." I will be taking over as casting director so I'll be sure to get the "Muppet" look-alikes I want for this movie. Originally I had this guy for casting, but when he started talking about hiring some big shot actors like Tom Cruise as Bryan Denton; New York Sun Reporter, and Pamela Anderson as Vaudeville Singer, Medda Larkson. I knew that these people would never work out for my "Muppet look-alike" movie. Then he had the nerve to say he wanted to cast Johnny Depp as the fearless leader of the Brooklyn newsies, Spot Conlon. I told that guy to get real and get some well known actors, not some small time people like them! So I fired him. I guess that there really isn't a sinister plan to take over as casting director. My search for "Muppet" look-alikes has begun... End Log
As you can see, Mr. NewMup is not too intelligent, I have done some research on my own too. And have found some startling results. At the end of each observation, you will be asked to answer a question relating to the observations. These results will then be sent to me and the results of everyone will be put up as to how everyone answers. My first find comes in the resemblance of Grover, the blue monster and Shon Greenblatt cast as Oscar Delancey, one of the brothers that are a pain to all the newsies. ![]() As you can plainly see, they are both sitting in nearly the same position. Coincidence? I think not. If you will, take note of the leg positioning when the feet are hanging down. Also, take note of the slight slough in sitting posture; nearly identical! The last aspect of these look-alikes I would like to point out is the way and angle their heads are tilted. Now I ask you... My next find was with the resemblance of the ever loved Kid Blink (Trey Parker) to the Muppet Game Show Host, Guy Smiley. ![]() Notice the head; tilted, mouth practically open, wide-eyed and the eyebrows are high. Both are leaning in the same manor and look incredibly alike. Yet, I have another startling find to share with you. This one deals with the man behind the bars...Weasel, and none other than the Count; Count Von Count to be exact. ![]()
Once more, notice the facial features. Head tilting and sloughing over. I think enough is said there.
Okay, the following is my most startling find. It is also the STRANGEST of my finds. It includes everyones favorite cowboy and one of the sweetest muppets I've ever seen. The Match is set: ![]() Okay, half of you are out there going "What the heck are you doin' to good ol' Jackie-Boy, here?!" I'm sorry if any of you are offended, but this is the way it is! The only reason C.B. was cast as Jack is because his hair, smile and eyes resemble those of Prarie Don! Do you need any more proof that Newsies was only made because some psycho Muppet lover was looking for a reason to get up some "Muppet Look-Alikes?"
I have collected the newsies pics from everywhere over a period of time and would like to thank everyone who had them, for their use! Newsies and all aspects of the movie and junk are copyright by Disney =) The muppets an all aspects of them are copyright Henson Inc. and are being used without permission. I realize these aren't my pics and I'm just trying to say don't sue me for using them. |
