RECIPE NAME:  BREAD PUDDING

SERVING SIZE: 1 pudding
PREPARATION TIME: 1 hour 15 minutes
 INGREDIENTS:
2 cups bread crumbs stale
1 qt scalded milk -
2 - eggs -
1/2 teaspoon salt -
1/3 cup sugar -
1 teaspoon vanilla or 1/4 tsp. spice (nutmeg or cinnamon) -
1/4 cup butter melted
 
DIRECTIONS:
  •  Soak bread crumbs in milk, set aside to cool.
  • Add sugar,butter, eggs slightly beaten, salt and flavoring.
  • Bake one hour in buttered pudding-dish in moderate oven (325 F).
  • Serve with vanilla sauce.
Notes: In preparing bread crumbs for puddings avoid using the outside crusts.
