Bon Appétit SAUCES
RECIPE NAME:  OLD FASHIONED VANILLA SAUCE

SERVING SIZE: serves 4
PREPARATION TIME: 15 minutes
 INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup sugar -
1 cup water boiling
1 tablespoon cornstarch -
2 tablespoons butter -
1 teaspoon vanilla -
- - few grains of salt -
 
DIRECTIONS:
  • Mix sugar and cornstarch.
  • Add water gradually, stirring constantly.
  • Boil five minutes.
  • Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla.
Notes: Goes very well with bread pudding.
