Jason testifies at Tony's trial......

thanks to member and club asst. Jennifer for this transcript! = )

Alexis has just finished questioning Jason. Dara gets up from her seat and walks over to question him.

Dara: "Jason. Could you please tell the court how much it costs for a package of disposable diapers?"

Jason: "Ahhhh......the small ones go for about $7.49 a bag, but Michael's ready to graduate up to the next size."

Dara: "Formula. How much does that cost?"

Jason: "$3.19 a can, and the way he goes through it Leticia says we should buy it by the case."

Dara: "Leticia?"

Jason: "Yes, she helps take care of Michael."

Dara: "Ah, and when was Michael born?"

Jason: "December 26th."

Carly watches from the back of the courtroom and is smiling.

Dara: "Now, he was born with a birth defect. Wasn't he?"

Jason: "Right. It's called PDA. Ahh...a flap in his heart didn't close right." (Tony and Alexis are talking)

Dara: "And you signed for surgery too, correct?"

Jason: "Yes."

Dara: "Had you seen Michael at the time you signed for the surgery?"

Jason: "Yes I did."

Dara: "Did he seem weak or under stress?"

Jason: "Well um.....he was hurting. He kept moving all the time and he had to fight to breathe. You see.....that was what was wrong. He couldn't.....he couldn't take in enough air."

Dara: "So you authorized the surgery and Michael made a complete recovery and is now perfectly healthy. Is that right?"

Jason: "Yes."

Dara: "Now, Dr. Jones opposed the surgery. Is that not right?"

Alexis: "Objection. The defendant had a reasonable different of opinion as to Michael's medical care."

Dara: "Your honor. Dr. Jones is claming to have Michael's best interest at heart all his life. I'm attempting to show that Dr. Jones perception at what is good for Michael, is in a fact dangerous to the child."

Judge: "Objection overruled. Continue Ms. Jensen."

Dara: "Do you know the name of Michael's pediatrician?"

Jason: "Dr. London."

Dara: "Do you know his phone number? Right off the top of your head?"

Jason: "555-0114."

Dara: "You know that very well."

Jason: "Well I've used it a lot. Michael was premature and after surgery he needed regular check-ups."

Dara: "But overall his health is good? No sickness?"

Jason: "No. Well he's had a fever." (pauses) "Twice. One night it got so hard for him to breathe he couldn't fall asleep, so I made a tent out of some bed sheets and got under there with him and the humidifier, and some stuffed animals. We stayed up most of the night. I don't know too many stories, I can't sing, so I just....." (pauses) "talked to Michael about what we had seen that day, about what we'd do tomorrow, and something happened."

Dara: "Can you tell the court?"

Jason: "Yeah, right. Ah, when I was promising to take him to the park maybe buy a pretzel.......and feed it to the pigeons, Michael reached up and touched my mouth, and he looked at me like he finally figured out like I wasn't just a big pair of hands that feed him food, but that I was actually a person, like him......and I think that's when he knew, who I was and that I'd take care of him no matter what and then sometime before morning he fell asleep, and then I fell asleep listening to him breathe."

Alan gets up and leaves the courtroom, and pops some pills while Taggert looks on. Monica follows Alan.

Dara: "And what was it like not knowing all those weeks if Michael was dead or alive?"

Jason: "It was hard. I'd forgotten how to live without him."

Dara: "Were you angry with the kidnapper?"

Jason: "I still am."

Dara: "Yet when you had the chance to act on that anger, when you found Dr. Jones in the woods with Micheal, what did you do?"

Jason: "He....he pulled a shotgun on me. I just took it away from him."

Dara: "But you did break his right hand in the process, didn't you?"

Jason: "Yes I did."

Dara: "Why didn't you kill him? The Jason Morgan the defense is describing would have."

Jason: "I wasn't going to prison and be separated from Michael. No way."

Dara: "Thank you Mr. Morgan. I have no futher questions your honor."

Dara goes and sits down. The courtroom is silent.
