Starring:

      Adam Sandler and
      Drew Berrymore

Adam Sandler finally came back to the big screen, well WOOPITY DOO, but it was still worth the wait. All of you who expected this to be just like Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore are in for a dissapointment... this is far from Sandler's usual comedy. But, it is still a hilarious movie that is definitely worth the price of the ticket.

Adam Sandler
Adam Sandler as Robbie, The Wedding Singer

Sandler stars as Robbie, a 1985 rock star hopeful who became a wedding singer to pay the bills. He also happens to be one of the best wedding singers ever... until his finace stands him up at the altar. Then he becomes bitter towards love until his new friend Julia (Drew Berrymore) asks him to help her with her wedding (since he just went through planning one). Everything is going fine until Robbie realizes he is in love with Julia, and the man she is marrying is a total jerk. Now Robbie has to try and win her heart without breaking it with the bad news.

Probably the best part about this movie is the setting in 1985. I mean, sure all the dialogue is funny by itself, but the nostalga of the 80's pulls it all together, especially the music. One of the funniest lines in the movie is when Robbie jumps a plane to Vegas to stop Julia from marrying Glen (her jerk fiance). On the same plane is rock start Billy Idol, and after Robbie tells all of first class his story about Julia (including Idol), Billy says that she can't marry that jerk... to which Robbie responds "See, Billy Idol understands... why can't Julia?"

Drew Berrymore
Drew Berrymore stars as Julia

Although it may not be his typical comedy, Adam Sandler delivers one of his best performances, along with a strong performance from Berrymore. The Wedding Singer is a great romantic comedy, and one of the best date movies of all time. So if you guys are struggling with what to do on your first date with your dream girl, take them to The Wedding Singer... it will increase your chances at date #2.
