I've gotta say, your webpage is really the best fitness resource I've been able to find on the net.. Actually its just an awesome all around resource.. I've read all kinds of books on weightlifting and stuff (like "weightlifting for dummies".. hah, what a gas).. Many books out there put out alot of negative energy regarding supplements, which kinda sucks.
Okay, so you like to hear about people's success stories.. Here's mine..although it really aint the greatest (well, ok, it is, but im always striving for more)..
About a year ago, I was 6'2", 145 lbs, and around 18% bodyfat... not much a pretty sight eh.. :P
Figured it was time to make some drastic changes..
So I joined a gym.. (at this point I still hadnt found your webpage).. So I was kinda doing things all wrong for a while, kinda.. Was doing way too much cardio, and really not enough weights.. After about 6 months, I had managed to get down to about 135 lbs and around 8% bodyfat.. that was really
cool, but still i was a damn twig.
Then a few things happened.. Read your webpage, it really motivated me to start educating myself on how to do things right, how to do it properly and perfectly.. Then I joined Golds (damn, ballys sux ballz hehe), and started supplementing like mad, and eating high protein meals like mad, doing 'The Stack', etc etc.. Now I'm currrently at 6'4", 165#, 7% bodyfat (19 yrs old).. Workin pretty good.. (but still damnit im a twig!).. heh.
But alot of friends of mine that are really into bodybuilding say that some people just have the right genetics to get big fast, and others take years and years and years to get somewhat sizeable.. I bet im prolly one of the latter.. I guess its not such a bad thing, but it is kinda on the embarassing side looking so thin, when theres so many people at Golds that are like TOTALLY HUGE, like mega-steroid-overload competition people.. But people that big arent really attractive anyhow :)
And it's so funny, I can often lift heavier/more reps then alot of those huge guys..... must be the steroids..
Anyhow.. There seems to be a little buzz going around at the gym about some stuff called Pyruvate.. Couldnt find any info on your webpage about it.. Apparently it's claim to fame is that it greatly increases your body's ability to burn fat.. The stuff's pretty expensive too.. Any info/insight on the stuff?
Also do ya think Ginseng/Ginko Biloba could offer some potential increase in performance? I understand their major claim is the ability to increase bloodflow to the brain, which makes you think more clearly.. Im sure it also increases bloodflow just about everywhere else also, so I'm sure that would be beneficial for increasing bloodflow to muscles so perhaps you'd have greater endurance? I dunno, am I just talking outta my ass here?
hehe.. (speculating never hurt anyone) :)
Also a few products out on the market (g-force, etc), claim that
supplementing with L-Glutamine increases the body's own ability to manufacture its own proteins.. Marketing propaganda or truth? :)
Welp, thanks again for the cool webpage..
Phil

Jason:
Wow! After following advice gained from your page (which is among the best fitness/muscle pages I've seen) and using the E/C/A stack for about 1 month, I've lost about 6% bodyfat (from 17% to 11%).
I've only lost about 8-10 lbs of bodyweight, which doesn't bother me since I'm gaining muscle.
Your page is the most comprehensive, bottom line page I've seen on the topic. You cut through the crap which most people put on their muscle pages (buy this or buy that to get HUGE..etc). You recommend what works.
I bought creatine..it works as you said. The E/C/A stack turned me a "tad" jittery at first (well, tad is an understatement...remember "Fire Marshall Bill" from that show 'In Living Color'? I was like that for a while) but I reduced the dosage and I feel great now...lots of energy.
I'm also on a supplement which I got good results from before trying E/C/A. Its called Pyruvate, and it worked. Except, it got pretty expensive keeping up with the recommended dosage, so I got off it and switched to E/C/A (and I'm not going back) :).
In summary, your page is absolutely fantastic. Keep up the good
work...and thanks!
Mike Ring

Hi Jason,
first of all, I'll introduce myself: my name is Ian
Hulme, I'm 26 years old, a full time student at University College Chester studying for a degree in English and Theology. I'm a Certified Hynotherapist with the National Guild of Hypnotists and a Master Practioner of NLP (which, looking at some of the items in your pages, I'd guess that you know about). As far as my other activities go I'm a martial artist (Shotokan Karate and Kempo Ju-Jitsu), a soccer player (it is THE beautiful game - the nearest thing that I can find to being a pilot at the Top Gun Academy at Miramar!) and a swimmer (I used to think I was good, then I joined the college swimming club!).
I've got to tell you this: your web page is the best that I've EVER come across by a VERY, VERY long way. The quality of the information that you've put together is outstanding, and the passion and sense of enjoyment that you present it with is unrivalled. I came across it looking for information about flexibility, which I'm working on improving. The information that you have is beyond anything I'd hoped for.
I then spent some time browsing. Your positive mental
attitude/inspirational pages are nothing short of a valuable resource for the planet. As I mentioned above, I'm a Master Practitioner of NLP. Nicknames from my friends include 'The Jedi Knight' and 'The Reality Technician' (I guess that was my ego talking!), but I've not been able to raise myself to the pitch of motivation and confidence that your pages have instilled in me for a long time.
At the risk of being boring, I'll tell you what effect it's had on me! For the last six months I've had a classic case of, although I can change other people's live in a very short space of time, prevaricating and putting off a few things in my own. To whit, asking out a girl at the swimming club (A.: 6'1'', Masters student in Sports Psychology, British Universities Swimming Team member - I like tall, athletic, intelligent women; ever heard the phrase 'made to order?!') - confidently, congruently and not caring about any objections. I've been tinkering with my own mind like Han Solo with the Millenium Falcon in "The Empire Strikes Back" (being pursued by bucketloads of infuriated tie fighters Han turns to his passengers, smirks confidently and says, "Watch this!", throwing forward a lever. There is a weak whine from the engines that dies away, and nothing happens. Get the picture?!)
The energy that reading your inspirational pages has created has for the FIRST TIME EVER blasted through the mental blocks that I've had for most of my life in the area of women. I've had the techniques to change that, but never the raw energy. Jason, what can I say? After the easter break I'm going to be collaring A. and I'll make Tom Cruise look like a self-pitying
underachiever!
Anyway, enough of that. There's a couple more things that I
wanted to mention to you. First of all, I wonder if you'd be
interested on some articles on NLP and self-hypnosis (which I'm
qualified to teach); I guess that I've got enough from your website to want to give something back. I've got a few techniques that may be useful, so let me know. Second, I wonder if you could drop me a few notes about California. It's somewhere that I've always wanted to visit, and if I can get the money together I'll spend the summer there. Any hints from a guy who's spent his life there would be superb. For example, where would be the best areas to stay for someone with interests like mine (good friends, sport and self-improvement), are there any groups of like minded folk that I could join up with. Basically, an insider's view.
And, thirdly, would you mind if we swapped the occasional e-mail? British culture - for all it's good points - seems centered on the negative and the cynical, I'd really find it enriching to communicate with someone like yourself who's got very much the same focus on what is possible from human existence, not what prevents what is possible. Whatever, let me know your thoughts.
And that's all for now. Thanks very much for the servie you've done, and I wish you the very best. Keep healthy ad have fun,
Best wishes,

Dear Jason:
I'm writing to thank you for your support. Your positive thinking hints
have helped a lot. I wrote you an e-mail some months ago, it was very
nice
of you to reply to it.
When I wrote, I was starting my jiu jitsu training here in Brazil. Most
boys thought of me as just a pretty face on the do-jo. I felt very
demotivated. After several months of weight-lifting and lots of practice
(and positive thinking as well), I'm surprising everybody. Of course
there's still along long way to go, but it's been very rewarding to get
here, I'd like to thank you for your advice. You've played an important
role on my growing. :)

THIS WEBPAGE IS FANTASTIC!!! I WOULD DEFINITELY GO AS FAR AS TO SAY THAT IT IS MY FAVORITE ONE ON THE ENTIRE INTERNET!!!
After the first paragraph, I knew that I could trust every word that you said (typed :)...I am an ex-cheerleader turned fitness fanatic and I am SOOOOOO glad to finally get some straight-forward, applicable Q/A from someone who knows what's up!!
Right now, I am on the ephedrine/caffeine/aspirin stack...GREAT STUFF! I can see a difference
after only a week! Now, at first, I was a little bit jittery (I have always avoided caffiene-I'm a health nut), but everyone is just used to me bouncing off the walls anyways :) I just wanted to thank you SO much for what you have done with your webpage...YOU ROCK!

Hi!
I don't know if you remember me, but you gave me some advice a few months back about fitness contest preparation. I'm happy to inform you that I came in to both of my fitness competitions right on the money. 108 lbs of pure muscle!
I'm not sure what my bodyfat level was at, Around 10% or so. ( I use a mirror, not a caliper! )
Thank you so much for the help! The advice I followed from you was: Using creatine monohydrate,ephederine/caffine/aspirin
combo -- Did not try: DHEA
The creatine worked well in increasing strength and preserving precious muscle while dieting! I tried the Ephederine combo, only to find that my caffine sensitivity was heightened tenfold. (shakes, sweating , etc.)
The amount of cardio I did turned out to be much more than enough to burn the nessesary fat off of this little body. Halfway through I had to add more calories. (peanut butter before bed seemed to do the trick) Since the jury is still out on the effects of DHEA on women my age, I did not try it.
You also advised to keep the cardio to no more than one and one half hr sessions, which is out of my control. But I did make sure that I kept my heart rate low-70-75% of max, which prevnted the burning of too much muscle.
If you ever need any imput please let me know, for I would love to get involved in a manual or video! (groupies sound yummy to me too!) I would be thrilled to have you give me a gymnastics lesson, Especially if you look as good in a loincloth as Van Damm does (ha ha!) Anyway, where are you located? Please keep in touch!
P.S.- I just enrolled in a gymnastics course and I'm hoping to improve my routine immensely! Thanks for the splits to handstand press info on your page, I'll be working on it!
With Great Respect and Appreciation,

Dear Jason
I am a 16 - year - old fitness/health freak from Cape Town, South Africa. I have always been interested in the martial arts and recently an American moved here and openned a "New Generation Tae Kwon Do" school in my area - so I joined.
I have a real passion for it and I will try anything to enhance my training or my performance. I think your tips and other info are doing that really well (especially mentally). The articles that apply to me really motivate me and all I have to do is read them before a training session, etc. to amp me up so I can give it my all.
I'm also interested in ( esp. Chinese ) mental philosophies so that page helps me alot - I love it. I agree with what you said about meditation/visualization - I know it really works well. I think mental fitness/and strength is very important to achieve as a martial artist (or a gymnast).
Your flexibility page also stokes me! One of my early goals is to do the splits. About one and one half weeks ago when I first found your page my legs would separate to about 100 degrees and it was painful. I would have had no enthusiasm or motivation to do it without reading what you said but I've been following everything you said and have stretched about two
sessions a day since then (though I missed 2 days).
Last night when I stretched into the splits I felt only the tightness and not much pain for the first time. (O.K. there was a teeny-weeny bit of pain but it's almost gone. The point is I can feel a huge difference.) Anyway, I was so stoked to feel that that pain that really puts you off was finally disappearing and that I was finally getting there! I'm also getting really close to the splits now and it's all thanks to you Jason!
I owe you BIG TIME! And I know that all the other readers of your page do too. You have contributed to people more than you think by writing this page!
Your grateful fan,

I tried what you said. You know about thinking and picturing yourself doing well. It really helped me out. You see I'm a cross country runner in gr 10. I always used to put myself down about my running, because I wasn't doing well. Then after visiting this website I imagine myself doing really
well at competitions for about 10 min. a day.
I'm proud to say I've improved my personal best time by 1:58 min.
This page was very, very informative and helpful. Thank you very much and keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
Lindsay Jones.

Ripped Gymnast,
I came across your site a few weeks ago and tried the stack.
I did it for five weeks, four or five days a week, and,
combined with weightlifting and increased protein intake,
dropped my weight from 216 to 201 (so far).
Needless to say, I am overwhelmed that I lost 15 pounds
and two+ inches on my waist (except that most of my pants
no longer fit), and I'm confident that I minimized muscle
loss since I improved by bench press by 45 pounds in
that same time. Thanks!
BTW, I was wondering if you caught the Dateline
report on weight-loss companies marketing herbal Phen-fen,
whose ingredients sound much like
the
stack. They were very much against it as the ephedra
amounts exceed the FDA-advised max of 24 mg per day.

I do have
a question. What is your opinion on walk/jog programs that after a certain distance you stop and do sit
ups, push ups, etc. and do it again for set distances and exercises? IS it anaeronic or aerobic?

I had written you once before and I wanted to follow up. I have used the
ephedrene/huarana/asprin stack for a while now, and have seen great results.
I had a bit more to go, but I'm 20 pounds lighter now,
and still going. I have been recently frustrated with my plateau of fatloss,
and maybe you could give some encouragement/tips if you have a free moment.
I also have another reason for writing this email. I have been doing
some web page development and the such, and if you ever wanted to redesign
your pages (not that they need it) or want some help, I would be happy to
help in any way that I can. Hopefully I can at least give some back of the
encouragment that you've given me. At minimum, having some more
publicity on search engines to do your page justice (Yahoo! doesn't list
your page everyplace it should be...)
Anyhow, if you have a free moment, I'd like to talk to you some more
about this kind of thing, since I have never met anyone with this kind
of expertise. I'm pretty much starting from scratch, and can use all
of the advice that I can get.
Thanks again..

I have lost 7 kilo's.
I have just cycled the two months off and am about to go

going nowhere fast. I now weigh less than I did 20 years ago.

12. To Jason,
Have visited your site numerous times in the last
month. Did two most important things which I
learnt from your site, shifting my
lunch time cardio to first thing in the
morning time-slot before breakfast and
started using E/C/A stack for fatloss,
Man.. what can I say as so many others
have already mentioned earlier it works.
For stats, I am 5'5, was weighing
around 208 four months back, now weighing
about 183
(lost 7 pounds in the last 2 weeks
after starting on E/C/A). I do a 40
minutes/2.5 mile/300 calories treadmill
workout for 5 days a week and
weight train with free weights for 3 times a week.
Thanks again for the pointed info towards fatloss which I was able to
implement in my plan. If the same advice had
come from a Supplement Seller or a Supplement Seller's
magazine I would'nt have tried it, you looked
like a "practitioner" and not just a "preacher/businessman".

Hello Jason, how are you?
I am glad you replied to my email. I will answer your
questions first,
then I will chat a little about anything.
First of all, I am originally from Canada. I moved here
in San Diego a
couple of months ago. [...personal stuff edited out...]
So, I went to university in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
My first language is
French, but I am almost perfectly bilingual now. I
finished by bachelor''s
degree in finance 2 years ago. Yes, it really is my picture
from my university yearbook taken 2 years ago. Some were rounded,
some were squared. One of my friends cut them up and put them on a
sheet so she
could scan the pics for us. That might be why the quality is not so good.
I have changed a lot since that though. I never worked in finance
in my life. During university, I was working part-time as a
model in Canada.
After university, I had the chance to meet a very good and talented
agent.
I have traveled a lot since then and decided to move in the LA region
since
it is here that I do most of my business.
I use the ephedrine stuff you talk about in your website one week every
month. It works fine for me. Makes me lose about 5 pounds each time.
I
can't take 3 stacks a day like you say though. 2 is enough, otherwise,
I feel too jittery and am not able to sleep well. I make my own stacks
though. I buy capsules of ephedra which contain 5mg of ephedrine each,
caffeine pills which contain 100mg of caffeine each, and aspirin. I
think
it comes cheaper that way. Anyway, ephedrine really is the best stuff
to
lose pound for a short period.
Bye for now. Write back when you can.
Hugs and kisses.
