Start	Hakkinen jumps the start and beats pole positioned Schumacher into the first corner. Coulthard also takes advantage of Schmacher's poor start and gets ahead. Hakkien under investigation.
1st Corner	CRASH! De La Rosa, Heidfeld and Diniz all retire after coming together between the 1st and second corners. Safety car is out.
