Rules in Detail with Examples.
Rule 1.
Send your expected placings of drivers in each race of the 1999 Formula One Grand Prix season numbered one through to six, at least 12 hours before the scheduled commencement of the race. Use the form provided above to submit your form which will be known as your "reading" for the race. If you fail to submit your reading within the 12 hours prior to the race, then Rule No. 3 will apply. Driver's names cannot be duplicated, ie six different names must be submitted per form. One entry per person & per email address is allowed.
Your results of each race will be posted on our FUNCLUB LEADER BOARD as soon as possible after the race. Prior to the race, a box next to your name will say "LOCKED IN" when your reading has been received and registered. It will say "NOT SUBMITTED" if your reading has not been received and updated on our page. Please allow two days for this to change to take place in the weeks prior to the event, however we envisage updating it every few hours during the day (24 hours) before the event. Remember we are on Australian time and will not be awake the whole 24 hours before the event - if you are in doubt as to whether your reading has been received, send it again - but DO NOT change the positions - you're first reading received will be your final entry, unless Rule 4 applies.
It is STRONGLY ADVISED that you use the form above to send your reading, although an email from your usual account is accepted, provided it includes a). your name as email names are often different to the name you will be registering under, b). your password, so that we know it's really you placing your reading, c). the Formula One race to which the reading is applicable (eg. Monza, Australia or Britain), d). your reading clearly identifying a position number and name of driver.
Example of Rule No.1. If you use your own email account, we require it laid out thus: My name is John Smith, my password is Senna, my placements for Race 1, Melbourne are 1. M.Schumacher; 2. R.Schumacher; 3. David Coulthard; 4. Mika Hakkinen; 5. Mika Salo; 6. Jarno Trulli.
Example of Rule No.1. You may submit your reading at any time prior to the 12 hours before each race - if you are going on holidays it is advised you submit your reading early so you don't forget.
Rule 2.
Points will be awarded to you for each correct placement in accordance with the official results of the race, with the corresponding points allocated for that position.
The following points are awarded for each correct reading of each race in the season: 1/. Ten Points; 2/.Six Points; 3/. Four Points; 4/. Three Points; 5/. Two Points; 6/. One Point. At total of 26 points can be awarded for each race, if all six positions are correctly listed in your reading.
Example of Rule 2. If the results of the race using the first example in Rule No.1 were 1. M.Schumacher; 2. Mika Salo; 3. Heinz-Harald Frentzen; 4. Mika Hakkinen; 5. David Coulthard; 6. Jarno Trulli, then you will be awarded Ten Points for a correct first placing, Three Points for a correct fourth placing and One Point for a correct sixth placing. Your total points earned for this race will be 14 points.
Rule 3.
If you miss the beginning of the season, or fail to send your form within the 12 hours time limit as in Rule No.1, you will be allocated the field from the tail backwards as they lined up for start of each race, for each race you have missed.
Example of Rule 3. If you want to join this year's season after race 3, your placements for race one through three will have deemed to be 1/. the last place on the pole, 2/. 2nd to last, 3/. 3rd to last on pole position, etc, for Race 1, then that process is repeated again for Race 2, then again for Race 3. Be sure to submit your placements from then on, as you may well catch up easily, if you're as good as you think you are!
Another example of Rule 3. If your reading was not received for a particular race, you will be allocated the field from last place as No.1, second to last will be your position No.2, etc, through to sixth to last being your No.6.
Note: in previous years when this has been done, it was not uncommon for people to earn MORE points this way than in their usual readings! And men be aware - women are notoriously better punters at this game!
Rule 4.
If you have submitted your reading for a race and in the event of a scratching (such as an accident during qualifying), you may submit another name for that position ONLY, and provided it is received six hours prior to the first commencement of the race.
Example of Rule 4. A driver has an accident during qualifying laps and you had him in position five in your reading for that event, you may submit another driver's name for position number five ONLY, you cannot submit a completely new field.
Example of Rule 4: If a driver in your readings is disqualified for any reason during qualifying or within the 12 hour time limit as specified in Rule 1, your reading still applies - your driver broke the rules!
Rule 5.
Compete the form above to register now. You don't have to send your first reading until before the 12 hour time limit - but don't forget to submit it!
Rule 6.
The WebMaster holds the final say around here, and will not accept crude, rude or disgusting nicknames when joining; emails from people wanting to argue the results of a race; and other behaviour which might tick him off. WebMaster reserves the right to boot people who deserve it off this site! WebMaster will post his readings one week before each race so all can see.
