Warm Up Lap | Absolute chaos at the start. Diniz didn't get away and Wurz stalled when he got to the grid (thus ruled to start at the rear of the grid. Start aborted. |
Start | The field gets through the first few corners
when the red flags come out - aborting the race, due to computer failure on the circuit,
meaning no times could be given. Verstappen is tapped by Button on the hairpin - and Vertsappen has to retire, blocking the road. |
Restart | De La Rosa retires. The mechanics haul their gear back to the cars for the third start, and with clutches and engines at their limits, fans are brought in to blow cold air into the cars. Both Button and Wurz start from the pits. |
Restart | The field gets away, with an incident free first corner. R.Schumacher has a great start, gaining two places. Alesi passes Barrichello. |
