Thames Panel

This is Revell's Thames Panel Truck kit #7609

This one was built with a few modifications.

Body : From the box, the only thing difference is the amber windows which are from the "Orange Crate". Undercoated with 2 coats of Boyds white primer, then 3 coats of Humbrol orange enamel. The scallops were achieved by cutting out masking tape and applying in the desired pattern, then sprayed with 2 coats of a custom mixed blue/aqua enamel.

Engine: Again from the box.

Chassis: The first thing I did was tub the chassis to accommodate the Mickey Thompsons, from "American Satco", the tubs were done using evergreen sheet and square rod. The diff/axle is a shortened unit from the parts box as are the leaf springs, the spring hangers are scratch built. The front drop axle is a shortened unit from the parts box, the shocks were cut down and shortened.

Wheels & Tires: The front wheels are from the AMT '56 Vicky with tires from the parts box. The rear are the wheels from the kit, but I widened them to fit the Mickey Thompsons from "American Satco"
