The Place for My Warhammer Undead Army!

My Undead Army for Tournaments (2000 pts)

Unit 1 (Mounted Skeletons)
Leader
Necromancer Lord - Book of Nagash and Skull Staff

Hero - Standard Bearer
Wight - 2 handed weapon and Lance.

Unit 1
10 Horsemen - Light Armor, Shield, Lance

Unit 2
Wight Lord - Riding a Griffon, Heavy Armor, Shield

Unit 3 and 4
5 Ghosts and 2 Wraiths

Unit 5
20 Warriors - Heavy Armor, Shield, Spear

Unit 6 and 7
10 Archers - Heavy Armor (More of a nuisance to others
10 Archers - Light Armor than a real value)

Unit 8
4 Carrion

Unit 9
2 Catapults - Screaming Skull ammo ( anything less would be uncivilized ;-)

My reasonings for this is simple, the Necromancer Lord with the Book of Nagash gets to cast at Level 5 and can cast as many of the Necromantic spells as he has power points. The Skull Staff allows me to see what is being cast against me and counter it quickly ( like the hated Drain Magic!!). Next the Wight Lord is a highly mobile character that can take out most weak units and war machines. The Horsemen again allow that edge with mobility, seeing as they can move through forests unencumbered, a point most people tend to forget - nice when your oppenent forgets this one!! The Ghost and Wraith unit are more for distractions, Ghosts and Wraiths can only be hit with magic weapons and therefore can cross a battlefield with usually no harm. The archers are just units to again distract and annoy other units by taking out a few casualities. Same for the infantry. The catapults are good, if they don't break apart, for disrupting units early on and maybe getting one to run off board with a lucky hit. Lastly the Carrion can take care of the other flying units or disrupt and take out war machines. Hope this helps and please send me any new tactics or advise.

John
