Hello, my name  is not really kareoke, it is Doris 
and I was born to Mr.and Mrs. Lomax 
in Suffolk England many years ago,
  I always feel lucky to be here.
 I was the fourteenth child, and there
 was one more after me,a sister.
 seven sisters, and seven brothers.



  I was the first  G.I.War Bride to arrive in the town I 
have made my home since 1945 
                                                                                                 
 

 In case someone is reading this that came to America 
the same time as I did, or maybe their Mother, this is
 the ship I arrived on, 
It was an U. S. Army Hospital ship called the Larkspur.
 it was renamed the Bridgport.
 
 
 We left England the last week of March 1946 
 expecting to dock in New York April 2nd. my 
 first wedding anniversary,but we did not dock
 untill the 14th.
 

 In order for my children, and their children to know
 what my life was like growing up in England, and of
 the family I  left back there,I have writen them 
 a book
