1500 Visit sHOw Model The sHOw Model Train EXPO was presented at the Western Kentucky University Institute for Economic Development and Public Services on May 10th, 11th and 13th, 1996. Over 1500 visited the exhibit which included the sHOw layout, a display and lecture on train safety by Operation Lifesaver and the showing of slides and videos on the Passenger Depot at Bowling Green by Operation Pride. Fourth graders from the city of Bowling Green and Warren County schools were bussed in on Friday and Monday. The EXPO was open to the public on Saturday. Teachers reported that this was the best field trip that they had taken. Students were obviously enthralled with the exhibit. "Swell! Cool! How fast can they go! Make them crash! I love trains!" were heard frequently. MINUTESThe sHOw Modular Model Railroad Club met at 10:00 a.m. May 4th, 1966 at the Hobby Crossing. Vice President Paul Jones presided at the meeting. Plans for the Train EXPO at the Center for Economic Development were discussed. Treasurer Rumsie Butler reported that we have $110.00 left in the treasury. The next meeting will be Saturday, June 1st, 1996 at 10:00 A.M. CDT at the Glendale, Kentucky Depot Restaurant. After the meeting we will travel down 31-W and other roads to photograph trains and structures like the 100 foot trestle at West Point and other amazing sites as directed by our chief guide and favorite pointer, Charlie Hogan. A professional photographer, William Leon Davis, will accompany us on this railfan trip. In the event that we have snow or other bad weather we will meet at the Hobby Crossing at 10:00 A.M. The 4th Annual Railroadian Show and Sale will be in Nashville, TN Saturday June 29th, 1996 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds Vaughn Building. The next scheduled sHOw EXPO is August 31st, 1996 at Park City, KY Labor Day Festivities. A beginner's clinic will work on a 5 foot by 7 foot 10 inch HO layout for the Hobby Crossing after the Saturday meetings starting in July. members are asked to suggest layout designs. Members should also submit a list of any videos they possess which they would like to present at our Thursday night sessions. NEXT MEETING of the sHOw 10:00 AM June 1st
