Train EXPO

The sHOw Modular Model
Railroad will be returning to
the Institute for Economic
Development on Nashville
Road in Bowling Green with a
Model Train EXPO on Friday
May 9, 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.;
Saturday May; 10, 10:00 A.M.
to 4:00 P.M.;Sunday May 11,
1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.;Monday
May 12, 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
Again, Bowling Green and
Warren County schools will be
busing in visitors on Friday
and Monday. Saturday and
Sunday are open to the public.
Operation pride will have a
presentation and display on
the restoration of the L & N
Depot and Operation
Lifesaver will conduct its
program. We anticipate 2000
visitors this year. Mark your
calendaars for we need all
members to assist in this big
project. Commitments for
modules should be made as
soon as possible so we can
plan the layout.

President

Paul Jones was elected
president at the March
meeting. Other officers for
1997 are: Mike Dowell,
vice-president; John Warren
Oakes, secretary; Rumsie
Butler, treasurer; and Neal
Toms, events coordinator.

stock model railroading
supplies. Owner Brian Young
invites all sHOw members to
come by and check out the
store or call 793-9886 to
make suggestions about
what additional items should be
stocked.

Minutes
Business meeting met March 1st,
1997 at Butler Motors, president
David Boyd presiding. Rumsie Butler
announced that most members have
renewed their memberships and
Matthew Muckler of Glasgow,
Kentucky has joined the club. Revised
standards will be printed in 50 copies
and Bruce Baggett volunteered to
have them printed. Paul Jones
reported that Charles Hogan
deposited the club's historical report
with John Welther. The treasury has
a balance of 215.45. A letter of
agreement between the club and the
Barren River Imaginative Museum of
Science regarding a permanent layout
in the loft area was prepared by John
Oakes and presented for approval.

Vinylbed will be ordered for the club
by Rumsie Butler. Plans were made
to work at Sonnie Spillman's shop
every Thursday night unless notified
to consruct modules for new
members and kits for sale to new
members wishing to purchase the
components. David Boyd will inquire
about working with scouts on the
BRIMS project. The club voted to
place group mail orders for supplies in
April, July, October, and January. We
can at least save on shipping costs
and may be able to get some discount.
Officers for 1997 were elected. Paul
Jones is president, Mike Dowell is
vice-president, John Oakes is secretary, Rumsie Butler is treasurer
and Neal Toms is events coordinator.
