Simba

When one door of happiness closes, another opens.
But often we look so long at the closed door
that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.

In memory of our little Simba, aka Monkeybutt

Simba was taken from us on January 10, 1998. He appeared in our apartment parking lot at 630 am on June 3, 1997 wet, dirty, and very hungry and dehydrated. I tempted him out from underneath a car with some food and he never left my arms. The "Girls" wouldn't have a thing to do with him for 2-3 days and then they became the best of friends, sometimes.
January 7th, 1998 was when Simba was afflicted with FIP, Feline Infectious Peritonitis. We did not know and still do not know how he became exposed, but in 3 days the disease overwhelmed him and we made the decision to send him to heaven.
Simba is the best little boy in the world and to this day I still cry when I think about him and the little things he does.....
I miss so much seeing that sweet face in the mornings....
Some day Daddy and I will meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.....

Baby and Puddy Cat were taken from us in the summer 2000. Both were hit and killed by careless and inconsiderate drivers. I know it is a hazard endured by many outdoor kitties and one should always keep their cats indoors. I wish I had the room in my one bedroom house to keep all my cats inside, but it is just not possible. Excuses aside, Alan and I will miss our little Puddy and his momma, Baby. They were two wonderful little kitties. Both of them would always be there to help me with garden projects...weeding the garden and flower beds were their favorite chores. Puddy has his little spot in the garden and I take great comfort knowing he is there with me.
