Hardiness: Hardy to 0 degrees; USDA Zones 7, 8, 9 and 10
Growth: Medium growth rate to about 6 feet
Form: Fountain shaped if not sheared
Leaves: Deciduous; one inch; red foliage in cold weather
Flowers: Yellow flowers in spring
Fruit or Seeds: Red berries in fall and winter
Exposure: Sun or light shade
Water: Deep water every two weeks
Soil: Well drained loam
Fertilizer: Fertilize in spring or fall
Prune: Remove old canes in winter; often sheared
Problems: Few problems

Has dense thorns and makes a good barrier plant. Easy to grow. Wood inside of stems is yellow.
