  Origin: Native from Yugoslavia to Syria


Hardiness: Hardy to 15 degrees
Growth: Slow growth to 1 or 2 feet tall, spreading to 5 feet
Form: Spreading; useful as ground cover or small shrub
Leaves: Evergreen; small and narrow on green stems
Flowers: Abundant bright golden yellow flowers in June
Fruit or Seeds: Sets few seeds; not a pest as are some other brooms
Exposure: Full sun; tolerates inland heat and coastal conditions too
Water: Drought tolerant; needs little summer water
Soil: Well drained
Fertilizer: None; prefers infertile soil
Prune: Thin and shape just after flowering
Problems: Genista caterpillar

Branches grow in arching, weeping pattern.
