Hardiness: Hardy in USDA Zones 8, 9 and 10
Growth: Slowly to 5 feet
Form: Upright
Leaves: Opposite; toothed; two inches long; cream colored edges
Flowers: Tiny, white, fragrant flowers in spring
Fruit: Blue berries follow fruit on mature shrubs
Exposure: Full sun, but useful in some shade
Water: Regular water; established plants drought tolerant
Soil: Any sand, loam or clay; likes organic content
Fertilizer: Acid fertilizer in spring
Prune: Thin as needed; easy to control
Problems: Aphids and scale possible

This is a neat and bright plant for shade. Several other varieties of Osmanthus heterophyllus are grown. All are useful as untrimmed hedges.
