  Australian Bluebell Creeper

  Family: Pittosporaceae

  Origin: Native of Australia


Hardiness: Hardy to 20 degrees; USDA zones 9 and 10
Growth: Medium rate of growth to 3 feet, to 8 feet with support
Form: Mounding shrub; cascading or climbing vine (with support)
Leaves: Narrow 1-2 inch light green leaves
Flowers: Clusters of 1/2" blue, bell-shaped flowers all summer
Exposure: Requires some shade inland; full sun at coast
Water: Prefers regular watering (weekly) but tolerates less
Soil: Must have good drainage
Fertilizer: NPK in spring
Prune: Head or shear especially in spring to keep dense
Problems: Check for scale insects; gophers

Valuable for its delicate foliage and true blue flowers. Useful as a container plant.
