Hardiness: Hardy in USDA zones 9 and 10, coast and inland
Growth: Rapid growth to over 15 feet
Form: Woody vine or shrub
Leaves: Dark shiny green, pinnately compound
Flowers: Clusters, 2", red-orange, orange or yellow, all year
Seeds: Brown pods, 2 to 3 inches; remove for best appearance
Exposure: Full sun for best flowers; bright shade
Water: Prefers deep watering; drought tolerant once established
Soil: Well drained loam or sand; moist or dry
Fertilizer: Spring or fall with NPK
Prune: Frequent pruning to thin and control shape; shearing ok
Problems: Few problems

Fine textured plant with bright flowers makes a colorful shrub or hedge for barrier or privacy. Good against a fence. Rampant grower if not pruned. Does well in pots. 'Aurea' had yellow flowers and is not as rampant.
