MAESTRO!
My day starts with music, not the radio, mind you, but the sound of my mother's voice early in the morning. A subject close to my heart, music truly is one of God's finest gift of art to mankind.
Music is all around us, in the sound of birds chirping, the laughter of little children, the drumbeats from our favourite band or even the croaking of toads. It exists in all forms, instrumental and vocal. Music creates a different environment when being played differently. Through the years, various collections of music have been produced from the traditional classical, country and jazz style to the popular pop rock , heavy metal and presently our favourite, reggae and rap.
Sometimes I wonder, why has man this fascination for music? Is it because it appeals to his sense of wonder? Or could it be because it appeals to his sense of mystery? Music is a vehicle for man to express emotions, feelings and ideas. Through music, we get to express emotions of sorrow, happiness, courage and most of all, love. And by doing so, we get to release our multitude of emotions and thereby achieve a certain harmony of the soul.
To me, music brings a sense of joy, a sense of inner peace. When I'm happy, I hum a merry tune, and when I'm sad, I sing away the blues. Music is truly a magical thing. It brings inspiration, lightens your heart and makes you soar through sadness like a lark.
