The unusual background on this page is to demonstrate that you can use just about any graphic for a background. The background code goes in the <BODY> tag of a web page and is repeated over and over...tiled, actually. Of course, it isn't sensible to use animated graphics and certain others for your background, but you certainly can be imaginative. I like to make my own with PaintShop Pro. The one you're looking at is actually the banner I created for Banner Exchange. (Admittedly a poor choice, for obvious reasons: The pattern is too busy; the colors too dark...very distracting.) The ideal background doesn't conflict with or distract from the text and other information on the page. It should fit the theme, color scheme and mood of the page. Teddy bears or dragons are great for a personal home page, but not for an instructional site. |
