Notes:

From Chillicothe, Ohio. Generally about 32 years old. "A bit short of six feet, 180 pounds." Handsome, "quick with the lip". "Nero Wolfe's leg man, amanuensis, and cockleburr." Salaried employee, lives in Wolfe's house. Does typing, taxes, and bills, between cases. When going out, not afraid to do some breaking and entering to search for evidence.

The watched by the Police tends to turn into a hunted fairly often. As a licensed PI, Wolfe has the obligation to report all crimes and evidence, to the police. Often this is inconvenient, especially when the suspects are clients - then the PIs have to solve the case quickly and dramatically, to avoid losing their licences, or even being arrested.

Obviously he documents Wolfe's cases more often than Uncommon, but it doesn't come up as a disadvantage very often - i.e., from people who have read about their methods in a prior case. Similarly, his "hard boiled PI" code of honor is stronger than that, it merely is not a disadvantage often or usually not very much.
