Fun Away From Vista Way
Of course, we sometimes got tired of Vista Way and we had to venture off into the real world... well, as real as Disney can get. So, here are some places to check out and things to do when bored with Disney World. Another note: Page may take long to open due to pictures. Be patient.
Where else would we start? Being a cast member has its privileges. We were allowed to get into the 3 main Disney parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney/MGM Studios) for free whenever we were off. It was pretty cool.
The castle for the 25th Anniversary. It was o.k., but I like the white castle better.
My two favorite characters. Roger Rabbit in Epcot and Tigger in the Magic Kingdom.
Personally I thought Medieval Times kicked ass!! Being from Louisiana, I missed Mardi Gras for the first time in my life and I let loose the energy at Medieval Times. It was great cheering for our brave Sir Sea Bass (the blue knight) and see him turn out to be the bad guy who was disqualified (for throwing sand in the other guy's eyes...come on, it's legal, they do it in wrestling all the time), but Sir Sea Bass came back and whooped ass before he was captured and executed. Kick their ass, Sir Sea Bass!!
When you first go into Medieval Times they take a digital photo of you and stick it on the body of a medieval person. They wanted like $10 for it, so I took a picture of the picture. It came out just as good as the real thing.
Here is our blue crew from the night. From left to right are Tracey, Carolyn, Me (Jeremy), Chris, Kirk, and Brandy. Some of the others were cut out of the picture. They were there representin' though.
All the Disney Resorts allow the guests to rent little power boats called water sprites. Me and Kirk were representin' the Grand Floridian Resort one day and decided to rent a couple of the little suckers and see what we could do with them. It was really a great time despite the sunburn I got. We could ride all over the lake. Tons of fun. If you can do it, go for it.
Me on the right, Kirk on the left representin' the Grand Floridian water sprites.
Blizzard Beach is the first of the two water parks that Disney owns. Blizzard Beach definitely has the better slides. They were awesome to go on. Luckily, Carolyn worked there and had a pass to get me in for free. It was a totally awesome day even though it was just the 2 of us.
This is me and Carolyn before we went in with the Ice Gator. He represented.
Me and Carolyn in front of the Blizzard Beach mountain. The big slide in the back was totally awesome. I can't remember the name. If anyone knows, email me and tell me.
Typhoon Lagoon is the second of the Disney water parks. This one doesn't have the slides of Blizzard Beach, but the wave pool is second to none. If you are looking for an awesome wave pool, come here. Literally a tidal wave of water!! My College Program advisors took all the CP's from Wonders to Typhoon one day. TITS!!!
This is the whole CP group from Wonders. A totally cool bunch of people. They really were a lot of fun to hang around with.
These are just the people that worked Dome at wonders of life. From left to right are: Danielle, me, Jennifer, Sara, Lauren, and Laura.
Busch Gardens was one of the best times I had while on the College Program. One early morning me, Kevin, and my "Lil Sis", Brooke, drove to Tampa. It was the ultimate park for roller coasters. Montu and Kumba totally killed any other roller coaster I had ever been on. Space Mountain is for pus's compared to Montu and Kumba. Anyway, the day was totally cool and if you get the chance, I would recommend going there.
This is Kevin, Brooke, and me right after we got off the River Rapids ride. Talk about awesome. Kevin didn't bother to mention to us that he is undoubtedly the person that gets the wettest out of anyone on the tube. Naturally we were sitting next to him. Oh well, it was a hot day.
Me and Kevin decided to take a picture with some animals from somewhere else. I thought the white tiger was pretty cool.
Me and Brooke in some dinosaur eggs. "Oh Jeremy, that's you in an eggshell," "No, this is me in an eggshell...HELP, I'm in an eggshell..." (Couldn't resist the Austin Powers crack.)
The final place that I will talk about is the shuttle launch. One night, early in the morning a bunch of us left and drove down to see the shuttle launch. While I didn't get a good picture of the actual launch, I did get some good pics of all of us. The shuttle was a great experience. It was pitch black and then all of a sudden, the sky lit up. It was amazing.
Here is all of us in Brandy's Blazer when we got to the launch veiwing area. From Left to right: Top: Jamie, Stacie, Zanetta, Jason. Bottom: Brenda, Brandy, Kevin.
I don't know who these people are, I have a good idea what they are doing though. If you know these people, email me and tell me.
