This is a project that came
from the Net Collages I did at the end of 1996.
I realized that one of the things I really enjoy doing is telling people
where I got each of the things in my collages. The circumstances that bring
me and my materials together are as important and signifigant to me, or
maybe more, than the art itself. The work is a precipitate of those experieces.
So in learning HTML I decided to make image maps from the collages, allowing
the fragments I used be links to the places from where they came.
I am going to do one of these every week. The idea of a weekly collage diary is one I explored in 1995, with a piece called Street Litter Diary, where I took all the objects I found on the ground that caught my eye, and collaged them in a frame at the end of the week. Then I would look at the collage I made and relate it to the week I had. I did this for every week in 1995, ending up with 52 pieces. The shaded squares on the calendar indicate weekly entries that are available. |
