This one is either about Louis or Armand, both of whom abandoned their makers (Lestat and Marius). This song speaks of, "hard won freedom," which applies to Louis because of the attempted murder of Lestat by he and Claudia, and to Armand because of the seige of the Venetian townhouse and the supposed murder of Marius. "Hope brings you luck, Doors open up. And if you should fall, I'll catch you dear. It must be..." can be interpreted as Lestat or Marius telling their 'offspring' that they (Louis and Armand) can make it on their own, but that they (Lestat and Marius)will try and find them if they know they're in trouble.
