Talks about going to California (where "IWTV" and "TVL" both take place). "And California seemed to draw you like a siren from a postcard in a letter or a frame of film melting..." The 'film' reference could be to Akasha's chaotic anger after seeing Lestat's music video in "TVL". "...A Hollywood flat where we laughed about our fortunes..." Lestat and his bandmates shared a condo in southern California the night before their big concert. "...Where we held jobs in this bar down on Third and San Vincinte..." Louis tells Lestat of the 'vampire bars' where vampires mingle unbeknownst to the mortal vampire enthusiasts that frequent these bars. "...Under you, I feel your blood move in, out, slowly..." To vampires, sex is nothing more than a heavy make-out session followed by an exchange of blood (vampire blood is supposed to be 10 times greater than human blood). "...You move in slow degrees, A sudden memory, you're a Leonard Cohen song..." Vampiric speed is somewhat faster AND slower than that of humans. Leonard Cohen was a singer/songwriter. "...And every now and then I swear I see you standing on a sidewalk, in a restaurant, in a taxi passing by..." It is mentioned that vampires can both become invisible and project their image to other vampires at will. Often, a vampire can also conjure up memories (see, "...You move in slow degrees...") and project that image forth. This song is probably the best example of the conspiracy on this CD.
