MUSIC

Yep, I absolutely love music. It's my life. I listen to it when I'm happy, sad, excited, nervous, depressed, chilled back, etc. I listen to British Indie/Rock/Punk. I luv it!

In no particular order, here is a list of my absolutely favourite bands!

Catch are funky as! They're indie but being so young (they're all about 19) they're put out as a pop band! Wayne, Toby and Ben had a big hit with 'Bingo' a few years back but not much on the scene since.

Bis - they are non commercial pop but with a bit more of a raw edge. 'Punky pop' is what they've been described as.
They call themselves John Disco, Manda Rin and Sci-Fi Steven. They're such a cute band!!

If you like English punk then you'll probably know about the Sex Pistols. The Sex Pistols started the whole 'punk' phenomina. Whatever you're listening to now, NOFX, Blink 182, whatever. It all spawned from the Pistols. However, in 1977 when they debuted and the papers were calling them 'punk' they were unhappy about it. To quote from a radio interview:
Interviewer: What about the word punk? It means worthless, nasty, Johnny Rotten, are you happy with this word?
Johnny: No, the press gave us it. It's their problem, not ours. We've never called ourselves punk.

This is Republica. They're sorta rock/techno rolled into one...
The lead singer Saffron is a really cool chick. In they're album it only mentions Saff, and two other band members but as you'll notice, the photo on the top shows 4 men! Weird.

This is Teenage Fanclub when they were in the height of their career. They still make albums (and pretty good ones at that!) but are not so nearly as popular as they

used to be. Esp, with all this techno/dance crap that is being forced on the market! Grand Prix, in my opinion, being the bast album they ever recorded.

Catatonia are, easily, one of the best bands to ever grace the planet! Welsh and proud of it. Ah hah! But I know a small known fact! Owen Powell (far left, the tall one) is not actually 100% Welsh. He's born in England!!!

Punk rock. I think that's the best way to describe Ash's sound. Tim Wheeler, Mark Hamilton and Rick McMurray were all still at school when they got the group together in Ireland. After making their first album, titled 1977 (the year they were all born), they decided they needed a girl in group. Enter Charlotte Hatherley. Tim had seen her play with her group Nightnurse and decided she 'was the one', he got her number and left a message on her answering machine. And the rest, as they say, is history...

I've used more than one photo cos I love these boys soooo much!!
Sterophonics ROCK! With a capital R. Actually the whole word is just capitals cos they are so damn brilliant!! The 3 lads hail from Cwmaman (pronounced Kwah-mar-man) in Wales. The group consisting of Kelly Jones (vocals/guitar), Richard Jones (no relation)(bass) and Stuart Cable (drums). I'm so rapt about them I have nothing more to say then go out and buy Performance & Cocktails - you won't regret it!!
