On Charles W. Chapman

His strength, spirit, and brilliant use of color have brought him outstanding recognition. Born and raised in Pawnee, Oklahoma, Chapman draws deeply from within his Native American heritage. Completely self-taught, he works exclusively with oils. He is the winner in a number of contests. His paintings and prints are now in collections throughout the nation. Places such as the Oklahoma capitol building and the White House have exhibited Chapman’s works. His series depicting the legendary Pawnee “Doctors” is especially sought after. Chapman is also a cowboy. An authentic American cowboy who still raises horses on his own spread in Pawnee, Oklahoma. This blend of art, lore, and self-image gives Chapman’s presentation a charming immediacy that is both entertaining and powerful.
