FLATEARTH GAMES offers a considerable collection of free Calligraphic, Gothic, Old English, Celtic, Horror and Extreme fonts. While these are mainly designed for RPGamers, they could also prove most useful to the creative and talented artisan/craftsman as well.
THE WERERAT has a small offering of RPG fonts and dingbats. The upside is: these fonts are easily previewed and most accessible! You may wish to view this collection first before tackling the TUCOWS site. Good stuff, here!
THE CLAW is another easily-accessible site with a small font collection. Mostly Gothic and Horror fonts, but his "Cursive" library has a number of useful pseudoMedieval fonts for the Renaissance craftsman. Reccomended.
BRYDE'S MEDIEVAL WEBSITE offers immediate zipped downloads of Medieval, Celtic and Decorative (dingbat) fonts as well as links to other Medieval/Renaissance font collections. Regretably, not all of these links work. Still, a good place to begin your font collection!
ILLUMINATED CELTIC ALPHABETS are available at this site. Regretably, there are only two styles available -- but they are free as transparent GIFs! A small fee is requested if you want to acquire them as hi-res JPEGs. Even so, these are most excellent if you are working with Celtic calligraphy and illumination! Highly reccomended.
