LOUISIANA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL 2000
        THE JOUST

BREAK OUT THE SWORDS! The Tournmant grounds rang with the sound of steel on steel as these two knights fought from one end of the lists to the other...

To little advantage: both being skilled, experienced fighters whether on horseback or afoot! They exchanged blows for quite some time before Sir Collin managed to knock Sir Thomas' sword from his hand. In order to retrieve his weapon, Sir Thomas was forced to dismount. Of course Sir Collin played The Bad Guy by taking advantage of his superior position and attacking Sir Thomas from horseback. Until the King -- through the office of the Marshall of the Lists -- ordered Sir Collin to dismount also, or face His Royal Displeasure!

Youthful members of the audience watch enthralled as Sir Collin and Sir Thomas go at each other, tooth and nail! Sir Collin eventually won the grueling match, although not without dealing some low blows and illegal kicks along the way. But, hey: it was expected of him. He was The Bad Guy, after all! The New Riders of the Golden Age also perform at the Kansas City Renaiassance Festival as well as several other faires across the nation each year. Not only are their shows great entertainment, but highly educational also. Ryleh is definitely looking foward to seeing them again, next season at LRF!
