HEATHER RHODES
Weds
DONALD L. FARLEY
Miss Heather Rhodes and Mr. Donald L. Farley were united in marriage on Sunday, October 22nd, 2000 at half past one o'clock in the afternoon at The Chapel, located on the faire grounds of the Texas Renaissance Festival (Photo, right: in the foreground, Heather and Don stand to the left, with Best Man, Michael McDane Harris on the right, as the Reverend Jones delivers a short sermon, center, with Cardinal Holtje, behind, assisting). The double ring ceremony was officiated by John Jones, the minister at TRF with assistance by Richard Holtje (Photo, below: the Reverend Jones wearing the bishop's mitre, left, walks with "Cardinal" Holtje in the Grand Procession to The Chapel, with pipers to the fore announcing the approach of the wedding party). Lord Oberon, King of the Faerie Court at TRF (to the far left, in the same photo), also confered his blessings on the happy couple in passing. Renaissance music both for the ceremony and the reception following were provided by "Passing Measures". A reception with dinner and dancing followed in the nearby German Arbor.

The bride is the daughter of Harvey Rhodes of Spring, Texas, and Carol Hudson. The groom is the son of Lucille Farley and the late Donald J. Farley from Ogdensburg, New York.
Her elegant Irish wedding dress was completely hand-sewn by the bride, following a Renaissance-style pattern by McCalls. She began with a white blouse of heavy cotton, gathered at throat and cuffs, featuring classic "puffed" sleeves. Over her blouse she then wore a handsome bodice of tapestry fabric, with an "autumn leaf" pattern in red, gold, brown and blue. Her gathered underskirt was an offwhite heavy cotton with a tapestry fabric overskirt in rust, featuring a most-regal gold fleur-de-lis and diamonds pattern. She carried a bouquet of white roses accented with leatherleaf fern provided by TRF (Photo, above right: the new Mr. and Mrs. Farley with Mrs. Farley's daughter, Misty Rhodes, immediately after the ceremony).
Mary Chesney served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Pamela Harris, Elaine Brokaw and Johanna Munoz. Miss Misty Rhodes served as the Flower Girl. Michael McDane Harris of Spring, Texas, served as Best Man. Following a honeymoon trip to Ireland, the couple now resides in Houston, Texas (Photo, below: Passing Measures provides music for the ceremony at the entrance to The Chapel at TRF).

The bride wishes to extend her sincere appreciation to her father, Harvey Rhodes, for bearing the cost of her wedding. Her warmest thanks go out to all the members of the wedding party for their many gifts and best wishes on this auspicious occasion; with a special "Thank You!" to Pamela Harris, not only for all her advice and support leading up to this day, but also for all the wedding favors she created and distributed especially for this wedding.
