The shadows on the wall twist and turn

Clouding my vision

As I look in the mirror

I see her there smiling

How have you been baby

Fine I answer

I'm almost over you

I never meant to hurt you

But my life has to be my own

As the tears well up in my eyes

You are the only one I will ever love

But its just not meant to be

Eyes closed against the flood

As I relize the only way I can make her happy

Is by letting her go

I open my eyes and the rivers cut down my face

As I watch her walk through the wall

Shimmer and then disappear

Her last words just an echo on the wind

Smile and wave and walk away

Goodbye

Ahh the world with all its loneliness and all its sorrow

To find and then lose

Only to see that you have gained

As the laughter peals and echoes across the expanse

The bridges are burned and the hearts have turned

Tomorrow....well that’s another day

Smile and wave and walk away

Goodbye

So as the heart speaks to me and the head listens quizzically

Shaking itself it says You mustn't you mustn't

Yet the heart is compelled

And leads the way.....

To almost certain disaster

So as the heart leads the way

The head drags its feet

Trying to turn a fool

But alas the head is just not strong enough

So the heart skips merrily along its way

Like a child to play

As the trap is set

And the theater is about to begin
