Author: Judith Williams
I looked up at the stars one night
Holding dear my heart's delight
Then slowly, words came from my mouth
A spirit touched me from the south
Enveloped in the darkened space
I feared nothing here, in this embrace
Truths found were there inside my soul
In time I knew I would be whole
Shivers from the cold night air
Brought me back to reality, how unfair!
I liked my little dreamlike state!
But it was gone, it was too late
I mused as drifting, with you my guide
Again, I visited that place of peace
My heart was cleansed, I felt release
I cannot say if I prayed or cried
I just know, that night, the old "me" died
She was only an illusion, after all
Her wings were clipped - she could only fall
But rather than grieve for her demise
I simply look up now, to the skies
I see a star path; a dreamer's light
Guiding me now and then...a seeker's flight
