The Reading Garden - Matthew Stevens

Important notice: All poems have been submitted by the author.

Author: Matthew Stevens

Wandering down the sidewalk

on a dark and cloudy day,

I hear the ring of the old town clock

But I turn, and walk away.

I hear the sound of thunder, and

the rain sounds like applause.

On that thought, I wonder,

For each drop there is a cause.

Problems seem to fade away and

I'm playing in the rain.

I needed this today

Just to keep me sane.

A rainbow in the distance,

A color spectrum zoo.

It always makes a difference

and means the rain is through.

Quite a spell I'm under

I smile and give Him a nod

So many overlooked wonders.

Thank you, Mr. God.
