The Reading Garden - Tom2

Important notice: All poems have been submitted by the author.

author: Tom Williams
I thought of engineering things and it brought my mind to life
I thought of mending broken things, or helping things in strife
So many thoughts of many things before I'd realize
That thoughts of a certain lady cause my stomach butterflies
I dreamed of ruling Egypt and it made me stand so proud
Grand thoughts of power struggles made me laugh then, right out loud
But I thought once more of someone and I heard my own hearts sighs
Yes the thought once more of my lady, and her flock of butterflies
Yes I see the strength in eagles, as they soar from place to place
But its majesty so pale somehow to the feeling of a face
So much angelic, so much pretty, she can cause a man to rise
For much stronger than an eagle are my lady's butterflies
