Eavesdropping

Spying on people when they think I'm not there...

"Afterall what could be sexier than a guy who self describes as a metasyntactic variable? -Susan (on newsgroup), about Remington
"Checking his mail actualy keeps his heart beating." -Melissa, also on Remington
Well, except for classes, I've spent all bloody day on the Internet chatting with people. And night. Sarah got on IRC last night and apparently was getting a lot of messages from Worm and Sparqi (the nose guy, for now I'll use alias, being as it's short). Up till 4 am doing that, I guess. I was just up till two. Yes, waiting around for Remington to come back, which he didn't.

Got an e-mail from him sent when he got home- apparently he did start home last night, but fell asleep in Hayward for a few hours, got in fiveish. In reply to my announcing that I have a permanent connection, he said something along the lines of a yell of joy, an "awright, babe!" (babe???) and see you tonight.

Which I okayed.

Went off to class and when I had returned, I had been intending to take a nap- like the rest of 'em, I'm dead tired. However, due to the nature of ethernet letting me be connected all the time, I could see that both he and Zoe were online. I did attempt to nap, but I felt fascinated to keep on looking at what they were talking about...nothing really um, bothersome, but it was still odd to eavesdrop. He was puzzled at my writing "newmoon" on there, but then figured it out I guess, that I "had joined the ranks of the permanently connected." But Zoe wrote something insulting someone that I was just too tempted to reply to, so I got on and wound up in separate conversations with the both of 'em.

With her: She'd been attempting to discuss scheduling, but he apparently really doesn't like getting pinned down on anything. A little on how she didn't like how I'd feel bugged on weekends, but I said I hadn't felt that way on this one, just was being honest, she appreciated that. She said that he said I wasn't saying anything but he had the feeling that I wasn't always comfortable. Anyway, she'll be in Davis (then his house I guess) Saturday and he's going to be busy all day for some reason, and wants to get together. I decided to bail on seeing Shakespeare in Love with the English club, which is what I was going to do, after she said it ended sadly (apparently Remington said he almost cried during the end, and she said "something to be said for sappy guys."). We both have that movie pet peeve. So we agreed to see some happy movie- She's All That was chosen. Then it got into my 21st b-day...and my pondered party...I invited her to it. Insane? Probably. She said she'd spend the night at his place and he'd spend it at mine.

With him: He sent me the above Hobbes picture 'cause it was cute and wished me a happy Monday. Then I started going on about Sarah and apartments and Mom making me all upset...he said he worries about the stuff she does, but I act pretty maturely to him. Then he realized that it's his sister's birthday and he's apparently supposed to go to dinner with the parents tonight. I was all "have fun then", then he invited me along. I said he should go check it out first, but okay...he said "tradition dictates sushi" and that his family'll tease me for not eating it, but I said that I'm much used to familial teasing. He signed off }}}love{{{ :)

Later on in the day, Jessica and I discussed apartments- Bill and Melissa were going to move out because of an annoying neighbor, but now the neighbor is moving out, so they won't be. Now we're scrounging for 3-bedroom places or a house or something.

And also talked with Sparqi- it went well with Sarah. I talked to her in person, and she likes him, but is really weirded out by the age thing and him living 2 1/2 hours away. He likes her too. I think he's actually decent, albeit having a youthful fetish. This'll be interesting to watch.

Well, dinner is on for six tonight, in Berkeley. Said that his family is "entirely mad." What a shock. Gee, I wouldn't have expected that, somehow... not at all...;)
