"Love is blind- marriage is the eye-opener." Pauline ThomasonRemember how I said that things were peaceful and no odd events had come up, etc, etc, and I hoped it wasn't the calm before the storm?
Bingo.
I sent Sarah an e-mail (since I didn't have her phone #) giving her my address and number here. Well, she checked it tonight and called me. As you may have guessed from the title . . .
She and Hardeep got married last month.
It seemed to have something to do with the INS trying to deport Hardeep's family (their green cards are coming in a few months), it's hard to get married AFTER one of you gets deported, so . . . it was just them and their parents, followed by a hotel splurge. They're having a reception in August, I'm invited.
I am amazed. For one thing, I thought Hardeep wasn't going to get married until he got out of med school. For another- well, their ages. Damn! (Look, someone else's life is even more soap-ish! In one year she's graduated from high school, gone to and dropped out of college, moved in with and married her new boyfriend. I suddenly feel much better about my year.)
We had a good chat, I updated her on things and vice versa, and it got me out of watching Leprechaun's grosser parts (yes, that's what we were watching). But I am still amazed.
On another topic mentioned recently, Anna wasn't too pissed with the page yesterday. Surprise! You learn somethin' new every day (well, today more than others!).
She said that she's told him she doesn't want to date (doesn't hate him), but he thinks she's kidding (well, I see the problem there). She's annoyed by the come-ons, and would rather go out as friends. Anna, I wish you luck in pulling it off.
