Hawaii Watch

My Soap-Operatic Life

"Life is just a chair of bowlies."-T-shirt slogan
The good news: We ARE going to Hawaii, the lovely island of Oahu, for eight days and seven nights. Staying in a condo (which, looking at the picture in the brochure, looks like an apartment to me) with only one bedroom and a pull-out couch, but at least I won't have to listen to Dad's snores all vacation (for once!). That's all I know about what we're doing. I plan to shop a lot, Dad wants to see Pearl Harbor (sigh), Mom keeps babbling about the Polynesian Culture Center.

The bad news: Leaving Tues. Sept. 15 a.m., returning 22nd 9 p.m. ONE DAY before I go back to school- great timing- all that packing in one day when I'll already be tired, whoopee! That's the one thing I'm not looking forward to. And as you can probably guess, I won't have Internet access for two-three weeks (whenever they bother to hook up my phone at school). Sorry.

In the news: On all these shows last night there were all these people going, "Why doesn't Hillary leave him?" Well, it's pretty obvious why: Ya think the country could stand a presidential divorce? Not gonna happen. Besides that, these political wives put up with crap to get associated glory. Once Hillary chose to marry an up-and-comer instead of being an up-and-comer, she forfeited her right to divorce. In case you haven't noticed, it's only acceptable in the public eye if the guy divorces the girl. She'd lose everything if she threw a fit and filed.

Oh, and before I forget: I found another link on personal ads I found in the school newspaper, I think you'll enjoy it: Where do all the lonely hearts go? Into the personals . . .
