"Just be yourself. That's what you've always told me."Well, it's been a helluva day.
"I could kick myself for that." -Daria and Helen, Daria
Aerobics: I was VERY disappointed to see that for some reason my lovely aerobics teacher from the last two quarters was not there. (Annie was in the class, however) Instead we had somebody . . . the rowing coach, she doesn't have a name. If you want to make any educated guesses about her you are probably right. She went on and on about how she was teaching weight training too- I felt like saying "Then go teach it then and don't bother here.". And did I mention that her buddy was the Birdwoman sub (worst aerobics teacher I ever saw)? She LOVES abs (I have abs of Jell-O and am sick of trying to improve the consistency. If I haven't done it by now after all those years of dance and P.E. it ain't happenin.) and has already mentioned that she likes to have arms going around in a circle during exercises. I'm pretty worried. If this class sucks on Wednesday I am dropping immediately.
Textiles: The teacher was okay. I get the feeling this class will be slightly dull. We'll have to see, but judging by the reader I had to wait in line for twenty-five minutes for, it doesn't seem thrilling. Oh well, useful info, I guess.
Lunch: I come home after class and as I'm walking through the hall Angela is putting up signs on the doors. She smiles at me after I smiled at her . . . but unlike other times when it was the friendly-RA-ish smile, this was a not-that-nice smile.
Anybody seen Sleepless in Seattle? Remember when Sam tells Jonah to smile at Veronica or thank her for dinner or something, and he does this huge fake grin for like a second, and it's syrupy and mean at the same time? That's about what I got.
Gee, ya think they both noticed my stalker-like tendencies? Geez, now I've pissed off/creeped out/who knows what them both off. Greaaaaaaat. I feel so embarrassed that I was sooooo obvious. I've been sneaking around this place ever since. I knew it was a bad idea to have a crush on an RA. Am I ever going to be able to go to a dorm event again? They're having a medieval night on Thursday that would be cool to go to. And there's social committee (moved to Thurs.), which I'm thinking about not going to at all if this is just too awkward and obviously stalker-ish of me. Although I did like one suggestion I got that I should give him funny looks instead. ;) So long as he doesn't talk to Megan he's got no proof, no proof at all! (Unless he's uh, Internet-savvy, but who the hell's gonna find this joint?)
MORE motivation to get over this shit.
Anyway, back to the day:
My design prof (goes by D.R. Like J.R.?) promises to be a kook, but a good-teaching kook, I think. I find it very annoying though that he went on and on about how this class was going to take all this time and if you're not willing to work you should drop. Hello, the class is FILLED with design majors who are all required to take it, I don't think we have a CHOICE here.
I spent two hours buying supplies for the class afterwards. It made buying supplies for Design 15 look like a picnic. TONS of charcoal crap and paintbrushes (but we didn't have to buy paint) and HUGE pads of paper that we have to haul to class every day- we have to haul EVERYTHING to class EVERY day, and we must have EVERYTHING by Wednesday. I was dead tired after hauling all that crap in.
Oh, and tonight I had my meeting for the lit mag, seele (please don't ask me what that means, I haven't the slightest). Mildly entertaining- I'm on the poetry board (selecting poetry), but we don't have much to do (other than soliciting for submissions) until winter. But the dome house the editor chick lived in was GREAT, I loved it! I asked her how she got to live in it, and she said she had to apply for it and tell them how she'd fit into their "community" (she used the c-word like eight times), and they have to do a lot of gardening and chicken-coop building every other weekend . . . well, I don't know too much about that. But if that's my choice between that and RA'ing, I'd rather play with chickens.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that a. I heard from Lisa today, & Chelsea got into DDD (Elena's sorority), both things make me happy =)
