Since my first Pink Snowman in kindergarten, (by happy accident, a bit of red
crayon was stuck in my white chalk) color has sent my senses spinning, my
soul soaring, and red is king - it's in my every painting, though sometimes
hidden in warm browns. Anticipation of applying luscious warm color to paper
and canvas and my love of music and theater pull me into my studio each morning.

On entering, I turn on the music - it might be anything from classical guitar
to Bernard Herrman's themes from Hitchcock's films- and it's curtain up.

With paint, canvas and brush I can be the impresario, the costumer,
the choreographer, the orchestra conductor and the author in the theater of
humanity's amazing spirit and nature's drama. Sometimes my paintings take
you backstage and introduce you to the performers anticipating their entrances.
There also are the textiles, flats and props so important to defining life's magic.
Sometimes the plot is more comedy than drama. However it is presented, the
main theme of my paintings is humanity's glorious spirit; that spark which fires
our imaginations to conceive cathedrals, crime or pink snowmen. What is a pink snowman after all but a snowman in costume?
