11/23/99. Virtually every college football fan in America wants a playoff format to determine a national champion. But Big Money and politics behind each regional bowl has prevented playoff competition from taking place. Now we have the "cul-de-sac" bowls. Big deal: your team goes to some bowl and there the season ends. Little dead-end bowls mean not much more than you get to play another game, lap up some bowl money, and attract recruits.
