Some things I want you to know
Sex In Covens
1. Some people run covens who regularly have sexual intercourse with the high priest (or, I suppose, more rarely, the priestess), although these covens may just see the sex as sacred, some of these people just like to have sex with young girls (or guys). If a coven you're thinking of joining wants you to have sex with the memebers and/or the priest or priestess, look at it carefully and decide if their intentions are good, and if you still want to join. NOT ALL COVENS ARE LIKE THIS. In fact, it is a rarity.
2. Silver Ravenwolf
I recommend avoiding this woman's books like the plague.
Her books will not harm you. They wont turn you evil or anything, but they will give you the wrong message about wicca, and teach you some very child-like methods of doing things. If you are grown-up enough to search for a religion in the Craft, then please, do so with another author. I recommend Scott Cunningham, or Yasmine Bleath for starters.
Silver Ravenwolf's books teach a very one-sided and ignorant type of wicca (although it still is wicca. She treats angels like they are children to be toyed with, and teaches wicca as some sort of hobby wherein the learner can become powerful by making figures out of construction paper. Please, in the name of the Goddess avoid her, and tell your friends to as well.
3. Love Spells
Wicca is not a religion centered around getting the things you want, while hurting others. A love spell aimed at another person in particular (say, his name is "Bob") is manipulating, and therefore BLACK MAGICK. If you want to do a love spell, do a summoning spell where you call someone to you who will be good for you, and you will be good for them. Don't ask the Goddess and God to cast a spell on Bob to make him love you. This manipulation will come back on you via the rule of three. In other words, you will be hurting yourself in the long run.
4.The Movie, "The Craft"
The movie "the Craft" did a good job teaching the rule of three, and made a few other good points, but it is not something to be taken to heart. It makes wicca seem to revolve around spell-casting, a big part of our religion is the worship of the Great Goddess and God, NOT just spell-casting. Remember that.
5. People who tell you their religion is THE RIGHT religion
Don't believe them. This includes Christianity. It is not the only real religion, and you don't have to go to Hell if you don't believe in it. The only right and real religion is the religion you choose
