"No Gods, No Masters!" -- this has always been the rallying cry of Anarchists. From its inception in the mid-1800's, the political philosophy of Anarchism has stood firmly against domination and exploitation, and for liberty and cooperation. It was Mikhail Bakunin who turned Voltaire on his head by stating: "if god really existed, then it would be necessary to abolish him" (1871). Murray Bookchin, perhaps the leading purveyor of Anarchism today, also upholds this notion of constructing a basis for ethical behavior without any reliance upon a deity.
This page is intended to be a resource for those interested in anarchy and its relatives. It is, insofar as is possible, a non-sectarian reference, and likewise is intended to include both theoretical and practical sources of information. It is recognized by the author that this is only one of many possible (and, in fact, actual) pages for anarchy and the author does not attempt to claim that the links found here comprise the total range of anarchist thought (indeed, capturing this would be impossible).
Here are a few links to online documents discussing anarchy of one form or another.
Here is a list of groups whose discussions have a fairly significant relevance to anarchy, as well as items of a time-dependent nature. As always, additions are welcome...
For an in-depth list of Anarchist Mailing Lists, please refer to this page.
These are sites which possess information of direct relevance to anarchists. The signal to noise ratio varies from site to site, but that's life...
While not references to anarchy in the strictest sense of the word, these are links that might interest anarchists or those supporters of freedom who are not (yet :-) ) anarchists themselves.
Here's Delilah's mission statement, and what you can do to help.
It is the mission of this archive to make avaliable to anarchists, near anarchists, and other interested parties as much information as possible concerning the practice and theory of anarchy and of related social systems. This information will be presented in an orderly fashion, in keeping with standards of utility and professionalism, and, insofar as possible, without sectarian bias. The goal of this site is to increase awareness of and support for anarchy and anarchism within the net community, to form one of many rallying points for anarchists on the net, and to attempt to create alliances between anarchists of different sects in hopes of aiding in the creation and maintainance of free societies.
Interested in getting involved? Great! There's a lot you can do, and very little of it involves a lot of work.
First, explore the links included here. Are they useful? Are they improperly catagorized? Hell, are they still functional? Send mail with any suggestions, comments, or criticisms - otherwise, I won't know how to improve the site. Next, look around for other sites that AREN'T in these pages. There's far more stuff on the W3 than I can possibly find on my own, and I need your help to find those new and out of the way resources that can prove so valuable.
Do you have a bigger vision or an alternative idea? You can run a page on this site, or else put one up elsewhere and I'll link to it. This site's mission is to further anarchy, and the more anarchist sites there are, the better I'll be able to get my point across. I'm always open to new ideas, and am more than happy to link to yours.
Lastly, do you have an idea that's been ommitted? I'm not proud, and will take all the help I can get! Send your idea, and I'll work on turning it into reality.
Help me educate the world about the possibilities of anarchy. Send your questions, comments, etc. to me, and I'll get to work on them. And thanks for helping me to improve this site!
DISCLAIMER: The opinions expressed on this page and/or from the links contained within it do not necessarily reflect the opinions of anyone in the known universe, the author included. The author expresses her condolences for any offense given or risk incurred by the reading, linking, or mere existence of these pages or the links therein, but, alas, disavows any and all responsibility for the same. Life is hard.
Lastly, please understand that Delilah is a fictional character, who exists only in my own mind. She will not be showing up to assist you in any anarchist activities, because she is only a figment of my imagination. Get over it.
