Let's just say I now have a whole other image for "scared the shit out of him". Things livened up last night, instead of just slipping off into oblivion.

While I was playing the game, Azura decided to be productive, and clean the apartment and cooking dinner. She was bemoaning the state of the kitchen while cooking, complaining that "she'd never catch up." Those of you who've been with me for awhile know that I'm not exactly the best housekeeper. OK! that's putting it mildly.

Azura is about the only reason you can see the floor in my apartment. So, I don't understand why she's so concerned about it. Of course the place is untidy, we had company this weekend. We've been out of town most weekends lately, and our work schedules don't leave a lot of time to clean up. Or at least that's what I tell myself.

I tried to eat spaghetti and meatballs while playing the Sony Playstation. Azura had made some grape juice and decided to server that with dinner. She said something about her cutting out caffeine. That's fine with me, so long as i get my Mt. Dew at work, and my Sweet Tea at home. (Which I take care of by the way!) I don't even mind juice, but Grape Juice was never my favourite. Fortunately I was spared the onerous task of drinking it. But wait, I'm getting ahead of myself.

We have a sliding glass door with long vertical blinds. The pets like to sit there and bask in the sunlight, or just look out. Dickens barks at the people he sees through it. Kapua likes to run through the blinds--I guess they make a neat noise. Well, I was twirling some spaghetti up in my fork when we heard an awful cry from the sliding glass door.

Kapua shit, ran and attacked Maggie, then ran into my room. Worried my pets were going to commit hari-kari on each other i put down my plate, and ran back into my room. I forgot to put the controller down, which had wrapped around my grape juice. SPLASH!..

At this point we have random excrement all over the floor, and now a big purple grape juice stain. I got hold of Kapua, and settled him into my room, and got Maggie out of it. Then we sat down and started cleaning up.

Since Maggie was so calm (when isn't she?), we assumed that something had --quite literally--scared the shit out of Kapua. We cleaned up, and I settled back down at the game, and Azura began her 'never catch up' rant again. I tried to comfort her some, but I think it was beyond my capacity at this point.

A little while later, I made a quick trip to the bathroom, sat down to do part of the game, and Azura looked at me. "You hear that," she said. "What?" I said. She said the commode is overflowing. I ran in there, and sure enough it was clogged. We got it cut off and spent a thirty minutes trying to get it running. This includes knocking on my neighbors door looking for a plumber's helper.

I finally convinced her to go to Wal-Mart and get one. SO off we went. Even that didn't help at first, and I started looking for my lease. In a one-bathroom apartment a 'clogged toilet' qualifies as an emergency, and I was gonna call them. About the time I found it, Azura had the drain unclogged.

I saved my game, and we went to bed. Enough excitement for one day.

Tonight I actually got Windows installed. I had to use a large-hard drive utility that came with the drive to get it to work. It's kind of odd, because both linux and my bios correctly detect the drive. FDISK even sees the whole thing, but when DOS goes to copy to it...kablooey. It works now, though.

Azura was a lot saner today, too. I think it was just one too many things yesterday.
