L A N D S C A P E This virtual landscape, including the sky, was created using VistaPro, a DOS program which was given away on a magazine CD. Although quite ancient in computer terms (i.e 2 or 3 years old) it is capable of generating quite realistic landscapes and can generate animated fly-overs.

C A T A digitised frame from a Hi8 video of a neighbour's cat. Several different computer treaments of this frame were made. In this case, only a small central section of the Hi8 frame was used . The software used to process the image was Spacetech's Photodesk.

3 D   C O N S T R U C T I O N Generated with a rendering program called Visual Reality. It doesn't support true ray-tracing but, as this picture shows, it makes a reasonable job of handling reflections and shadows. It can also render transparency but not refraction.
