Did I spring some tears?

Actually, no. I was surprised at how little it hurt, when I had heard horror stories about how people pass out or cry because of the pain. I will admit I did jump when the needle first hit me, but that was more surprise and the anticipation built up inside of me. When Mark started to work on me, it felt more like when someone tries to draw on you with a ball point pen. You could feel the strong pressure but it was totally tolerable. Keep in mind mine was only an outline. Later when I had shadding done it was more intense but still very do-able. Eventually my shoulder got numb and I didn't feel the direct point of the inking tool. Plus it lasted only 15 minutes. Maybe if it went like an hour longer I wouldn't want to be uncomfortable for that long. Location is a major factor too. My shoulder is kinda fleshy and not on bone. Some people get tattoos on their spine, ankle, finers, genital area, or even inside the ear! I'm sure those hurt much more than mine did.
