She sits by herself in a world full of pain,
Wondering what she has to gain.
All the day long she'll laugh and play,
Coming home to hurt every day.
Her parents yell, her parents hit,
The beatings are common, she can't throw a fit.
Sitting there crying and painfully taking,
She knows to go through this at every waking.
Her uncle finds other pleasures in her youth,
But believe me, he won't knock out a tooth.
He'll touch her and use her uncomfortably,
Showing her things young eyes shouldn't see.
It's her seceret... in her heart it stays,
To unlock on all those lonely days.
What if she tattled, what if she told,
Would there be any hope for her to hold?
Her deepest secret told to a friend,
When they're together now her heart's at mend.
Her friend will help when they're together,
But when they're not, it's stormy weather.
A friend has a choice to tell or to keep
A secret so deep, she can't help but weep.
What if the friend decided to tell?
Would the injured girl's life soon be hell?
Would she be betraying her mom and dad?
Would it rid her of hurt so tearful and sad?
Haven't the parents betrayed their daughter
Every time they made her eyes pool with water?
Through all the years of tears and screams,
Could she forget it all by mending the seams?
Locking those who hurt her away in jail,
Could this really stop the times she would wail?
Of course it wouldn't, but it would help a lot,
To get rid of the touching, all sticky and hot.
A chance to live with laughter and dreams,
At curving her lips to make her mouth beam.
What if the friend told and the abused one was mad
Her companion broke their trust, it made her so sad.
If the friend told an adult, would it be her fault,
If the torturous pain came to a halt?
